EVOLVE – An exhibition coming 2010
Welcome to a uniquely different art experience that hopefully captures your imagination, presents the eyes with visions of women creating life, and art that attempts to stir your emotions. Those that enter will not soon forget the women, their voices and the power of the artistic mind.
artist statement
In this body of work I present a woman at her most spectacular moment in time, while she is pregnant. To me, artistically, it says nothing more than look at the body, look how she transforms and expands, creating a vessel for life to begin. However, in the abstract, I attempt to provide the viewer with the opportunity to think about the process of life, each of our magical beginnings and most of all, a reflection point into the world of the woman herself. This body of work is less about the physical process and more a view into the mindset of a woman at this time of her life.
I am absolutely captivated by shape, light and sound. This body of work has allowed me to explore the human body, exposing the ultimate human state. The ability of a woman’s body to share space is visually compelling to me. She is at the apex of her life as she fulfills a physiological purpose – to create life. It confounds me to see how society relegates women to a lesser position.
I have attempted to present these women in the most respectful and unique way. Hopefully, you will be changed and find a new reverence for those that give us life. As your eyes peer at the body, I challenge you to think about what is happening inside her and how, in this rare moment of time, she is the most superb creature that exists in the universe.

The EVOLVE exhibition is based in large-scale photographic images accompanied by a compilation of other art forms: body castings, music, sculptures, video, drawings and oil paintings. Viewers wear an audio device with which they listen to the women and music. EVOLVE is a multi-media experience and a journey through a woman’s most inner-thoughts about her most bizarre and wonderful experience. There are thirteen sub-installations within the exhibition itself, all integrated and complementary to each other. EVOLVE is not just one exhibition, it is comprised of thirteen distinct artistic presentations.
